Black and White Snow, Sea, Sand, Sun...

Variation on Richard (Blowin)'s theme...decided to convert my naturally blue snow shots mostly to black and white. Its really strange but when the eye fools the brain into thinking snow is without a blue colour cast when viewed in the great outdoors, it looks on the compute screen when the brain conversion is switched off...hm.

Nice set Andy. If you'd been down a bit later in the day you could have photo'd H & I out for a dinghy sail. Forty five minutes was my limit before frostbite started to affect my fingers. Thanks for the picture of Roundel. Make the most of her as she is up for sale and destined to go to a broker in Chichester in April.

Andy,
the B/W snow pics are tricking me.
The shot with the shoe print leaves me unable to tell easily if this is snow or sand.
The thing is, I rarely see the two together so its harder for me.

Hi Peter,
The low angle sun added texture to the snow and concrete beneath which cought my eye. I guess w.ithout the footprint the steps could be going up not down...

Richard,
I do recall you telling me the boat was leaving you: it's a fine looking boat and parting must bring a mixture of emotions?

Tim,
To be honest if you imagine this to be all snow you will be very close to the truth! I'll post a colour version to clarify...:)

It remains close to freezing here still, but calmer, kinder weather than the wind and rain of previous weeks. Hope to get some more shooting done soon! I'm getting rusty...
Andy

Hi quester (and Tim),
here are a couple in 'nostalgic' colour courtesy of SilkyPix.
Opinions welcome!
Andy

A nice processing fitting the winter mood. The result looks somehow... nostalgic?... :)

Peter

I think I like them in B/W a bit more.
Nothing wrong with the colour but the B/W works for me
