I've been away for a week visiting relatives but took some time off last Thursday to visit the aviation museum at East Kirkby in Lincolnshire, England. This small museum is privately owned and the work of 2 brothers in memory of another brother who died in WW2 while on operations in a Lancaster. They have been working for years to rebuild a Lancaster to a flying state. They are not there yet but 'Just Jane' can do taxi demos and that was what I was lucky to catch. It was a very showery day and it poured during the demo. Fortunately I had the GXR S10 with me well protected with a HA-3 adapter and a lens filter. East Kirkby was a war time bomber base so I tried to capture some idea of what it might have felt like 70 years ago.
