I just found a news about new major version of Silkypix! Unfortunately, the public beta version is only in Japanese, so I'm afraid, we will have to wait a bit longer to get the English version. New features sounds promising, although there seems to be no radical changes in SP design and feature set.

- SP PRO should be now faster both in preview and processing (thanks to new processing and multiprocessor/multicore support)
- There should be some kind of selective editing
- Spot cleaning and clone stamp tools!
- Dodge tool
- Improved highlight recovery
- Dual (before/after) preview
- History management for tracking changes done over the time (great!)
- Histogram editing
- Saving Unsharp Mask settings
and some more...

Good news! ISL guys released another Beta version of SP PRO, which is now possible to install on English OS! It now installs without any problem but it's impossible to run it without installed East Asian language support (Control Panel >> Regional Settings >> Languages >> check "Install files for East Asian languages") and set Japanese language for non-Unicode programs (Control Panel >> Regional Settings >> Advanced).

If you are not experienced in English version of Silkypix 3, it's probably a waste of time trying the Japanese version of SP PRO ;) I think I can say I'm skilled enough with SP3, but it's a pain to use SP PRO in Japanese ;) But it's definitely worth a try if you know what to do.

SP4 is definitely faster and the new features are great! I'm sure, you will love the Dodge tool. Its results are something between fill-in flash and fake HDR.
