Just found a review of the R10 on steves-digicams.com. posted 10/09/2008

The review is very positive, might have to buy one myself!

Yes this R10 review is very positive. Thanks for info! I almost forgot about Steve's reviews. These reviews are not very technical and detailed, but very consistent. There is also a GX200 review at Steves-Digicams, which is similarly positive.

BTW, I just received a R10 for a comparative review with R8! So you can expect some side by side comparison shots soon ;)

Hehe, hold you horses ;) I have it less than 24 hours. I'm afraid, you will have to wait few more days.

It definitely does different processing with lower level of contrast and sharpening. One of the first things I noticed is that the SD slot is now oriented in the same (familiar) way as in GX or GRD. Previously, I often tried to insert the SD card with wrong (GX/GRD) orientation ;)

Hi,
My wife received her new R10 this week (still has the R8, so I hope to be able to make a few comparison shots in the next weeks).
I noticed the same: The card is now oriented as in GX100/200, "normal" setting is much softer and less contrasty than "normal" (and probably even "soft") of R8. However, I also had the impression that -- compared to the R8 -- some details were missing (softened out...) -- which is not a good thing...
Best regards, Gerd
