8th Ricoh Contest

Thanks for info Cristian! I knew it was announced on Japanese web but I missed this English announcement ;) Am I wrong or this time it is not prohibited to edit the photos? There is mentioned JPEG, but nothing about editing. There is just a note about preserving EXIF?

This is true, did not even see it, makes it more interesting.
Maybe Ricoh realized taht their jpg engine is not up to scratch to be printed large ;). At the last Exhibition you could easily tell the pictures taken with the GRD II since they were smeary even at small printing size.
 
I already sent them a question regarding the processed JPEGs and converted DNG files. So we will see. Most of my shots are taken at ISO200-400 and I definitely don't like the processed look of JPEG files.

I just got an automated reply from Ricoh and from what I've understood googlish translation, the person responsible for answering is out of office until 30.6. So we will have to wait a bit longer ;)
 
I finally got a reply from Ricoh Contest office and I'm happy to announce that the photo editing is allowed! This means that we can send also the JPEG files converted from RAW!

Thank you for inquiring.
I am Mamoru Izumi of the Ricoh photo contest secretariat.

You can apply the photo contest, if the picture, taken with Ricoh's
digital camera, contains Exif information.
also we allow the JPG data converted from the RAW/DNG data.

The photo editing is not especially limited by the application outline.
However, there is a possibility that Exif information disappears.
Please note it will be disqualified if Exif information cannot be
confirmed.

Your photo is well spotted and framed! If the "winning" emails are sent manually (one by one), there may be some delay between them? Don't loose your hope! ;)

This is great Pavel! When I saw your photo, I knew you will be selected. It is a great picture and fits perfect for this theme.
