Can the ca-1 cable release control longer 45 minute shoots

I'd like to shoot longer then the 8 second limit in the firmware. Nightime shots of 45 seconds to hours long

ricoh does have a ca-1 release just not sure if its to activate shutter or really control manual mode...

Hi glennohull,

I use a Cable Switch ( CA-1) on the GX100. It can perform both half press and full press operations of the shutter but has no controll over the manual mode shutter speed settings ( which go as high as 180min. on the GX100 )
