Although having got a 720nm IR filter for almost one year now, I had no opportunity to use it reasonably since month ago, only few "minutes" before Christian (aka olyz) and zmix posted their works here. Here is a sample, for comparison, made by common Nikon D90 (pardon  ) with Nikkor 18-200mm on it, shutter speed=30s.

Peter, I just now found your successful trial! I'm looking forward to more IR landscapes by you and others and further experiments ;)
Christian

Thank you for your input, Christian. IR seems to be fun, but definitely not for an action photography (unless having a converted camera).

Another day, another location, the same setup and processing.

Peter,

WOW, that last one highlights it better than the others.
The "red" water on the foreshore has some transparency to it and you can see rocks below.
Its really got some punch to the image and is quite unique. Its Not really something I've quite seen before.
It reminds you a bit of the overexposure scene indicator you get on the LCD but here it is in image.

Thanks for posting.

Hi, rainbowgrease. I do not use an IR converted camera, just a 720nm IR filter with a common camera, so the tutorial in this case is easy - screw the filter on a lens and you made it. :)

Mala Fatra (Small Fatra) - Velky a Maly Krivan (Big & Small Krivan), naturally in infrared version as expected in this thread.

Great landscape shots Peter, especially the first and last. At the other pics one could replace the red with sky blue (?)

Christian

One could, Christian, but you know... having artistic red period... and the connection to infrared, emphasizing the surrealistic feel... :)

Peter

That works really well Peter...and not artificial at all...nice one!

Peter, IR against the light is difficult, but it is worth to take a picture as this beautiful landscape shows!
