I'm a bit confused, here is a problem:
I'm taking photo, then i push play button to watch photos.. after some time lens is hiding.. and here is a problem
becouse when I'm using DB-60 and go back to taking pictures It's okay, i can take photos
but when using AAA in playback mode and half-press shutter, or click the play button again, there is no preview,
ony batery notify (full), I can't turn off te camera, I can't do anything..
after opening and closing and starting the camera the lens is hiding and opening again...

I thinhk It's some kind of bug in firmware, or my camera is faulty.. i tested on Sanyo Eneloop AAA 800mAh and Sanyo AAA 1000mAh.

Can someone test his camera the same way?

I don't have GX200 yet (just got an info it will be delivered tomorrow). But I will surely test it also with AAA batteries. As far as I remember, the GX100 worked OK with AAA batteries. Just not long enough to be seriously useful.

Hi dagio,

Yes, I can confirm this problem. I will report this issue to Ricoh along with two more bugs I found.

It seems that turning the camera ON from preview mode (after retracting the lens) is somehow quirky, even with DB60 battery. For example, if you have the mode dial set to My1, 2, or 3, the selected My Mode is not applied after turning the camera ON from playback mode (after retracting the lens). The same happens in GX100 and GRDII. However, your problem with AAA batteries is only GX200 specific.

I already forwarded this problem to my contact in Ricoh so I believe we can expect a fix in a near future ;)

I got a confirmation that this problem is already under investigation! I'm sure we can expect to have it fixed in a nearest FW update ;)

Ricoh just released new FW, which should fix this problem. I don't have the AAA batteries with me, so I can't test it right now. But I'm sure it's fixed ;)

That's a very good news :) response for the problem was so quick.. I tried it and there is no more such problem like in the beginning.
Great job odklizec! :D
